This week was all about getting ready and setting up my project for Gurus Day. This is a day within the first semester of our honours project, when professionals from various different design industries all get invited to our studio to give us feedback on our projects. We each have to provide the gurus with three explanatory boards, detailing our project aim, research and investigation we’ve done and our concept design. Along with that I also planned to exhibit all the plastic exploration prototypes.
For the layout of my table I created stands to let my boards sit upright in order for the audience to view everything displayed on them.

Besides that, I created storyboards to visualise the problem people have with donating money and how my design concept approach was to create a profitable cycle that helps clean oceans.
Along with preparing my stand, I also wanted to prepare for the chats. Each person got at least 4 different gurus allocated to them. Mine included: Leanne Fischler, Andy Ross, Dean Brown and Paul Topen. I wanted to take full advantage of each guru’s design speciality to figure out how they could help me with certain aspects of my project. I put together roughly three questions for each person. For example, I want to ask Leanne, who works within the area of sustainable design, what aspects of a product need to be present for it to be considered sustainable design.
